About Ben Klipfel

Benjamin Klipfel is a nonprofit cultural and marketing executive with a background in communications, marketing, theatre and organizational health.

Klipfel currently serves as the Interim Executive Director for the City of Eugene’s Library, Recreation and Cultural Services (LRCS) Department. Normally, he serves as the LRCS Senior Marketing and Public Information Manager.

Prior to his tenure with the City of Eugene, Klipfel served as an Executive Director for a variety of regional and community performing arts organizations.

Klipfel holds a Master of Arts degree in Theatre and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Design.  Klipfel has vast experience with event planning, event and production marketing, theatre producing, strategic planning and strategic marketing initiatives, assessment, organizational health, board development, and grant writing.

Klipfel is an active civic member, and has served on a variety of boards and advisory councils, including Downtown Merchant and Development Associations and the Minnesota State Arts Board which manages the Minnesota State Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, a function of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment passed by Minnesota voters in 2008 which appropriates 19.7% of the sales tax collected from the Legacy Amendment to arts and culture.
